Which model Mac? Macbook Pro or iMac?
I will be getting a new computer soon. Apples only, so don’t try and convince me to get a Windows machine. What would you recommend? I am not a student, so it would only be for my apartment. I plan on installing windows for some basic programs, some online games (not big high end ones), some basic computer programs, for web Surfing, and possibly video editing.
I really like the iMac for it’s design and power. But the macbook pro is nice because I could have it in different rooms with me.
Believe it or not, the MacBook Pro has the same “power” or possibly more than the iMac, so if you have $2000-$3000 to blow on a MacBook Pro, then get it. Just remember to keep it cool as it is a “desktop replacement” (Basically a heavy laptop meant to be carried from one desk to another)
And whoever said running Windows on a Mac opens the Mac OS up to viruses is a doofus. Windows is on a seperate partition from Mac, and Mac OS X is formatted differently, so the virus couldn’t execute. Just make sure to keep your “Windows Side” protected from viruses etc. But if Windows does get compromised, open up the Boot Camp utility in Mac OS X, and just wipe the Windows partition, and reinstall Windows.
